Latino Review, who has a pretty impressive track record with these sorts of scoops, is reporting that Christopher Nolan (The Dark Knight, Memento) has taken over the reins for not just the struggling Justice League, but the entire DC lineup at Warner Bros.
The last news on Justice League was that the script written by Will Beall (Gangster Squad) was being thrown out. That was pretty dire news for the film adaptation of the superhero team-up film. All looked grim on the Justice League front. And now we have this.
Christopher Nolan taking over the reins is extremely good news. What else is good news? Christian Bale is likely to return as Bruce Wayne/Batman. And Henry Cavill will be returning as Clark Kent/Superman. Of course, the Cavill starring Man of Steel doesn’t open until this summer, but early word is that it is amazing and will be the superhero film to beat this year.
While Nolan isn’t expected to direct Justice League, word is that Zack Snyder (300, Watchmen, Man of Steel) is. Word is also that David Goyer (The Dark Knight, Man of Steel) will be involved in the writing process with Nolan.
Will all this come to pass? We can only hope. Keep your fingers crossed and hope Warner Bros. actually announces it soon. They probably won’t, though, until after Man of Steel releases as that is where most of their attention currently lies.
