Here we have the first full trailer for the upcoming remake of Carrie. Based on the novel by Stephen King, and a remake of Brian DePalma’s classic film, this film is directed by Kimberly Pierce (Boys Don’t Cry).
Is this film necessary? Of course not. The original DePalma film is a classic. With talent like Pierce involved, though, I find myself curious. It doesn’t hurt to have Chloe Grace Moretz (Kick-Ass, Let Me In) playing Carrie and Julianne Moore (Boogie Nights, Children of Men) playing her mother, though. They are both phenomenal actresses and I am very curious to see what they do with the characters. The trailer, though, looks like a standard remake. Not to mention it gives away almost all of the plot of the film. Anywho, have a look at the trailer here:
Carrie opens on October 18, 2013, after being pushed back from it’s original release date of March 15, 2013. Hopefully, it will be able to stand out in the crowd of other horror films that release in October.
