Movie Ruminations

Spike Lee’s ‘Oldboy’ poster is . . .different . . .

Later this week, we will be getting the red band trailer for Spike Lee’s next film, Oldboy.  Oldboy is a remake/reimagining of the original Korean film directed by Chan-wook Park, and is cult a classic, which I have yet to see.  Here is the official synopsis:

OLDBOY is a provocative, visceral thriller that follows the story of an advertising executive (Josh Brolin) who is abruptly kidnapped and held hostage for 20 years in solitary confinement. When he is inexplicably released, he embarks on an obsessive mission to discover who orchestrated his bizarre and torturous punishment only to find he is still trapped in a web of conspiracy and torment.

The film stars Josh Brolin (The Goonies, W.), Elizabeth Olsen (Silent House, Martha Marcy May Marlene), Sharlto Copley (The A-Team, District 9) and Samuel L. Jackson (The Avengers, Shaft).  Have a look at the amazing and subtle poster here:
