So here it is, the first teaser trailer for Fantastic Four. After months of bad publicity including reports of a difficult director (Josh Trank, director of the magnificent Chronicle), and a troubled production, and the outcry of fanboys everywhere over the casting of a black man to play Johnny Storm, we are finally getting our first look at the film. And you know what? I’m not terribly impressed. I’m also not underwhelmed. It looks entertaining. I think. This is the definition of a teaser. There are no plot points. Just a tease of what’s to come in further trailers and the film itself.
Why don’t you take a look at the trailer here and feel free to sound off below.
From the YouTube description:
FANTASTIC FOUR, a contemporary re-imagining of Marvel’s original and longest-running superhero team, centers on four young outsiders who teleport to an alternate and dangerous universe, which alters their physical form in shocking ways. Their lives irrevocably upended, the team must learn to harness their daunting new abilities and work together to save Earth from a former friend turned enemy.
That tells you more that the trailer does.
Fantastic Four opens on August 7, 2015.
