What is it about boxing movies that gets us so excited? The sport is all but gone from the public consciousness thanks to MMA, yet somehow we get a new boxing flick every couple years. And almost all of them are very well done. Even Grudge Match, despite a lot of folks not liking that one (read my review here).
So, here is Jake Gyllenhaal playing a boxer who talks like Eminem, which is ironic since Gyllenhaal took over the role after Eminem dropped out. I know the film looks good, but that white boy ghetto speak is going to make me have a hard time with this movie. No question about it.
